Substitution Language Maker
Write a rule table, your text changes by those rules, and one link carries it to someone else.
Write rules that turn one piece of text into another, and the whole text changes at once. Use it for fanfic alien speech, TRPG cipher notes, a private way of talking, or conlang practice. The rule table and your text are processed on this device and never sent to a server.
Start from an example table
Click one to fill the table and a sample text. You can edit it.
Rule table
Write what to find on the left and what to put in its place on the right. Leave the right side empty to delete that text.
Paste or copy the table as text
One rule per line. Separate the two sides with ' => '.
Text to convert
0 characters, up to 2000
Result
Type some text and the result appears here.
Send by link
The table and text ride in the part of the link after the #. Browsers never send that part to a server, so nothing reaches ours. Whoever opens the link can read the text and edit the table.
Save on this device
Saved tables stay only in this browser's local storage. They are not sent to a server, and clearing browser data removes them. Up to 10 tables.

What it does and does not do
It swaps text by a rule table. It does not judge whether the result reads well or translates correctly. You can use it as a cipher, but a letter swap is easy to break, so never trust it for security.
What it does
- Runs through the text once, left to right, and applies the rules. Replaced text is never fed back into the rules.
- When several rules match at one spot, the rule with the longest find text goes first.
- Reverses the rules to undo a conversion, and checks by actually reversing whether the original comes back.
- Packs the table and text into one link.
Limits
- Up to 64 rules, 20 characters each for find and replace, and 2000 characters of text. Anything over is refused, never cut.
- There are no regular expressions or conditional rules. Text is found and replaced literally.
- If several rules produce the same output, reversing uses only the first one written, so the original may not come back.
- Turning off case sensitivity treats only the letters A to Z the same.
- There are no accounts, so a lost link means a lost table. Saved tables live only in this browser.
